up to date

First and foremost, I got back a paper today in my Foreign Policy class. Now let me premise this paper with the guidelines which my professor uses. He has given us a list of sixteen grievous errors of which stop his reading at the mistake; he draws a line through the paper and returns it to the author. They then must correct the mistake and if they were smart they would proof the remainder of the paper because if the professor stops again, he grades up to that point and no further. Of course, if the paper is handed back to the author the first time, the highest grade they can receive is an eighty per cent. So needless to say, I was nervous going to class this morning. He told everyone that out of twenty-seven people in the class, eight must do rewrites and because this is the highest percentage he has ever had in his teaching career, he resorted to public humiliation to get his point of proofing our papers to us. We all counted down the people, sighing when it wasn't our name read aloud. The tension was broken when the poor student who made a mistake in his title was ousted. After I learned it wasn't neccessary for me to do a rewrite, I of course assumed I was the lowest score of eighty-eight per cent. To my surprise, I was one of four who scored a one hundred! Ok, that was my good news and sadly short lived because I have a fiver due for the same professor on thursday.

To go back to the weekend, Josh and I went down to Columbia, Missour"a" for a football game and K State suffered the ignominy at the hands of the now seven and one Mizzou! Go Tigers! Look at me cheering for football! It was acctually a lot of fun however frigidly cold! The rain kept intensifying and the wind was not helping. Wool socks, long underwear, jeans, two T-shirts, a new Mizzou hoodie, and my Marmot soft shell did NOT keep me warm the entire game. I did last longer than I otherwise would have if I had not worn what I had. On our way back home, we stopped in St. Louis and I went up the Arch for the first time. I like St. Louis just fine, but Josh hates it when I call it quaint; but when the downtown area has the same number of tall buildings as my neighborhood, um, it's quaint!
Here's some pictures:

And lastly, I was walking down Michigan Ave. tonight, going back to my car, and it is not yet halloween. WORKERS ARE ALREADY PUTTING THE LIGHTS ON THE TREES! Here come the suburbanite shoppers!!
