Random Stuff

OK, so it was a Wicked Weekend!! I love this show; the music, the dancing, the costumes (and I think Fiyero has been working out a bit!). No matter how many times I hear the music, seeing it live always gives me the goosebumps. This one was a bit more special because Josh and I had friends from St. Louis in town and for one of them, this was his first Wicked experience. We only wished we could have seen his face at some of the parts. The next best thing however were the ladies who were sitting behind us. Here are some quotes: "Oh! That's a twist!" "I think he's the scarecrow" "NO, I think he's the Lion!" and there were the ever-present "oooohhhhhs" that only the only older ladies can do.

So last weekend I flew out to Newark, New Jersey! I know, you're jealous! I was supposed to fly out on friday night, following my class, but that surely didn't happen. After a 2 hour delay and finally boarding the plane, the plane gods in their infinate wisdom cancelled my flight just as I was dozing off. We were told that we could collect our luggage in 5 hours and that all the hotels in the area were booked (that must have sucked for the out of towners!). I went home, but not before trying to rebook; let's just say that I wouldn't have been able to get to NJ until dinner the next day and when I called United, they wanted $1500 to get me to JFK by noon. Lord and Taylor forget that! I got home and Josh and I went to a freind's house where we drank and had a good time. Got home around 3ish in the morning and I decided to try online for a ticket one more time. I found an awesomely priced flight that left at 7 (only 3 and a half hours later). I bought, I flew, I drove and the weekend was great! Tricia's t-shirt was a hoot and it was great seeing everyone again. I'm getting great ideas for this summer! And I can't wait to get back! Here's a couple videos to show some of our very important discussions:

Is it black wednesday yet?? Only one day of classes this week! I've signed up for my classes for next semester! The freshman class that I have put off til my senior year has finally made its way onto my schedule. This should be fun! I have another Tige class but it should be good, just a load of reading, I think it's Constitutional Law or something similar. Tom and I have 4 classes together next semester and with Tricia (P)'s help, those 2 should be able to keep me focused on course work.

A few weekends ago, Tricia (p), Winnefred, Tom, and myself went out and some of this magic elixer called alcohol. When we got home, we found a building across the street on fire. I came to learn that this single family home, which is rare where I live, was a wood framed building. The 3rd built by Louis Sullivan. This also happened to be the 3rd which has been destroyed, the first two were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. The story on the street is the owner didn't want to renovate but would rather demolish it. The community didn't like this idea signed petitions to stop it. Well when a vacant house starts to burn at 2 in the morning, let's just say this smells fishy. Here is the view of the fire as seen from my sunroom (I have no problem posting this because no one was hurt in the fire):

Pay no heed to our drunken banter, haha.
